Happy birthday, Dad

Dad, you have been gone now for 7 and a half months and I don't think it ever gets any easier. When you left us, I actually felt love lost. There is no love like a parent's love. You (and Mom) loved and cared for me like no other. Though things were not always perfect and we had our share of disagreements, I never doubted you loved me. You always wanted to make sure I was taken care of and had what I needed. You loved my children, your grandchildren. I was able to see you in a different light when I saw you with my children. I guess as you retired and life's burden's lifted, you were more free to show your love. Today is your birthday, the first one since you have been gone. We had a cake (m&m dream bars) in your honor and told some memories we each had about you. You gave us lots of memories....many laughs and some tears. Happy birthday! We love and miss you!

I miss Dad too. I still expect to see he has written a new poem. This post is so nice. He sure was a really great grandpa. He did love us. :)I wish I could have been there to celebrate his birthday.

Love,
Vanessa
